Marie (initially designed as Maria[1]) is a secondary character in Craig of the Creek. She is a member of the Horse Girls, but she is not as passionate or enthusiastic about horses as they are.
Appearance[]
Marie has peach skin and light brown hair that is tied in a small ponytail with bangs swept to the right side.
She wears a gray hoodie with purple polka dot pants and white sneakers.
Personality[]
Marie's interest in playing horses has waned, she does not think that playing horses is as fun as the other Horse Girls do because of Mackenzie's bossiness. She likes basketball, as seen in "The Final Book". She believes that horses are fine, but she is not obsessed with them, and she is in the group primarily for her friends. She shirks horse exercises.

Secret Keeper[]
In the season 2 premiere Secret in a Bottle, the Secret Keeper and Marie appear to have an intimate relationship of trust. Secret Keeper appears to cover for Marie, claiming the "I don't like horses" secret as his own when it is revealed by Eliza. Marie seems nervous and wants to keep the Horse Girls from knowing this so she can continue to be with them.
Marie blushes at the Secret Keeper when he heroically rescues her from this vulnerable situation.
Cow-Boy[]
In the season 4 episode The Cow-Boy and Marie, it introduces a new character who acts like a cow, but doesn't play by the rules. For example: he eats beef jerky, something cows are not wont to do. This appeals to Marie who feels suffocated by the rules the Horse Girls (particularly the leader Mackenzie) press upon her, like needing to run fast or pick up apples without using her fingers (since horses have hooves).
He turns out to be a bad influence, compelling her to engage in anti-social behaviors like theft, and causing Todd to crash his bicycle. He later calls her "Myrtle" showing he never paid much attention to her, like learning her name is Marie.

Trivia[]
- She is the least enthusiastic about horses in the Horse Girl group.
- In the episode "Jpony" when Maney mentions "JP isn't ready for the horse course, it takes weeks of training, he's only been a horse for one day, I don't even know if Marie has even..." and Marie hisses "Sh!" and holds a finger to her lips. Afterwards, she glares at Maney. This implies she has not completed the course herself and does not want Melissa to know about this.
- On her mention in the "Creek Kid Rap," she is shown at the right, though she is shown with Melissa.
- In "Secret in a Bottle", it is confirmed that she does not like horses.
- An early write-up by Charmaine Verhagen stated that Marie is considered the nicest of the horse girls. She considers it non-canon, although some elements were retained in Horse Girls' final personalities.[2]
